Ayurvedic Hair Masks: 7 Best Natural Hair Care Solutions for Healthy Hair

When the doshas are imbalanced, it causes hair problems like hair loss, hair thinning, split ends, and dryness. Ayurvedic hair masks 

Hair fall is a tough problem to control. However, there are several Ayurvedic hair masks that have been proven to be useful in curbing hair fall and improving hair growth. Moreover, there are no side effects, so these masks can be applied safely. Even if you do not have any hair problems, these masks made of natural ingredients will help your hair stay healthy for the longest time.

1.Bhringraj and amla hair mask

  • 2 tablespoons of bhringaraj powder
  • 1 tablespoon of amla juice

Method

Blend into a smooth paste 1 tablespoon of amla juice with 2 tablespoons of bhringaraj powder to get a paste. Add some water if the paste is too thick. Apply the paste to your scalp and hair and leave it on for 20-25 minutes. Wash it off with plain water or mild shampoo. You can use this thrice a week.

2. Brahmi and ashwagandha hair pack

  • 1 tablespoon of ashwagandha powder
  • 1 tablespoon of Brahmi powder
  • Milk

Method

Mix the Ashwagandha and Brahmi powders with some milk and make it into a semi-thick paste. Apply this mixture onto your scalp and massage gently for 10 minutes. Leave it on for 30 minutes, and wash it off with a mild shampoo or with just plain lukewarm water. Use this hair mask twice a week.

3.Shikakai and amla powder hair pack

  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of shikakai powder
  • 1 tablespoon of amla powder

Method

Mix the shikakai and amla powders with lukewarm water to make a semi-thick paste. Apply this paste onto your scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. Later wash it off with water or a mild shampoo. Do this thrice a week for good results.

4.Neem and bhringaraj hair pack

  • A handful of neem leaves
  • Bhringraj leaves

Method

Blend into a thick paste the neem and bhringaraj leave with water. Apply the paste on the scalp and gently massage for a few minutes. Leave it on for 2 hours, and wash it off with plain water or mild shampoo. Doing this once a week will be enough.

5.Amla, reetha, and shikakai hair pack

  • 2 tablespoons of amla juice
  • 1 tablespoon of reetha powder
  • 1 tablespoon of shikakai powder
  • 2 tablespoons of rosewater or plain water

Method

Mix reetha powder and shikakai powder with amla juice and rosewater. Apply this fine paste all over your hair and scalp. Leave it for 30 minutes, and rinse it off with water. This can be applied twice a week.

6.Shikakai, neem, tulsi hair mask

  • 5-6 tablespoons full-fat yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon shikakai powder
  • ½ teaspoon neem powder
  • ½ teaspoon tulsi  (basil) powder
  • ½ teaspoon rose petal powder (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon fenugreek or methi powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, use for dry hair)

Method

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and let it soak for 30 minutes. Soaking will help the herbs to release their nourishing properties into the yogurt. You can apply the mask on dry or damp hair. Apply it to your scalp and hair. Let it stay on for 20-30 minutes, and then rinse it off thoroughly. You can apply this mask once a week to maintain your hair.

7.Shikakai, amla, coconut oil hair mask 

  • Shikakai powder
  • Amla powder
  • 2 tablespoons of heated coconut oil 

Method

Mix shikakai and amla powders with hot coconut oil and let it settle for three hours. Apply on your scalp and hair, and let it stay on your hair for 20-30 minutes. Then wash it off with a mild shampoo. This will protect your hair from split ends and breakage. This can be done once a week.
