Reading, writing, discovering things that will help us come out as better beings. And one thing parents must not miss is reading about some great parenting tips!
No matter whether you are a new parent, would-be parent or second-time parent, there is never enough parenting tips to help!
That’s why I thought of sharing some of the gems that I discovered in this journey of decades. Counselling kids and parents, studying the thousand-year-old scripts and picking up the pebbles of knowledge along the way.
So, here are 7 cues from an Ayurvedic doctor on making your kid smarter!
The shape of the pot is carved by the potter’s hand
A few years back, a woman in her thirties came to me seeking a tailor-made formula to raise her ten-year-old daughter right.
There could have been a list as long as a library. But opted to give her the simplest solution.
The shape of the pot is carved by the potter’s hand.

Your child’s nature would be a reaction to your actions. So, make sure your actions are correct and her reactions would automatically fall in line.
‘Teach her by example, not by lectures!‘ That’s what I said.
If you want your kid to read the newspaper then read it with him or her. Engage them in activities that stimulate and challenge their brain. Show them interesting ways of remembering things in the easiest ways.
Dig on the internet together. Find interesting topics, discover lessons and learn together. That’s the best way to growth!

8 Amazing Parenting Tips
1. In stories lies life’s most precious lessons
Every story has a lesson to teach.
Stories teach them the rights and wrongs. They learn about choices and consequences. Up and close!
Sow the seeds of positive feelings in your kid through good stories.
Stories from Panchatantra, Aesop, Ramayana and Mahabharata are interesting, intriguing and seeded with valuable lessons.
Teach them empathy, sympathy, gratitude, purpose, values and ethics through stories. And they will never forget their lessons!
This will help her get good friends. Stories from Panchatantra, help pleasant thoughts sprout and emotions blossom in her.
Also, studies show that kids who listen to bedtime stories grow up to be smarter.
2. Let the kite fly but keep an eye
Study reveals that children who make their choices from an early age turn out to be better leaders.
From letting them choose the dress to wear to the career they want to pursue, let them make their own choices.
Let them jump, fall, and get up again stronger than ever.
Putting restrictions on your child is like building a wall. It is bound to restrict its growth.
Strict time tables and stringent approach kills your kid’s creativity.
So, hold the thread but respect their choices.
Don’t check their mobile, but make the house rules clear.
Let them have their space but you dot the borders!
3. The lips speak to the ears that listen
Kid’s who are most close to their parents often develop a better sense of self-confidence and self-esteem.
So, make an effort to develop that space of comfort, where your kid can come up and talk to you. No matter how good or bad it is, they know that you will have their back.
Remember, listening is more important than reacting. Always!
Even if its something silly, don’t pull their legs. You can’t expect a kid to think and rationalize like an adult!
4. Read a book a day to keep the darkness away
There is no better way to learn than from the treasures scripted in the pages of books.
A man who reads knows much more than he speaks.
So, be it a comic, a magazine or a novel. Let them read.
Studies show that reading is very beneficial for your child’s health. The simple habit of reading can bring bounteous benefits. Reading stretches your imagination. It expands your lifespan. It improves your thinking dimensions. And makes you more creative.
5. Take a lesson from Edison’s mother
I am sure, you all have heard the famous story of Edison’s mother letter and how the lady turned her son from a failure to the greatest scientists of all times!
She educated her son all by herself and turned him into a gem.
Give your child the confidence of a genius and they will desperately turn into a genius.
6. Smile more to go that extra mile
Studies show that people who laugh more get rid of depressive situations and thoughts.
Bless your child with a positive garden of the mind.
Teach them to see the positive side of every situation. No matter how adverse things go.
This way you will be inculcating the attitude of a leader in your little one!
7. A lesson from Michelle Obama
Michelle Obama got some of the most amazing lessons on parenthood from her mother. Michelle Obama’s parents forged a foundation of goodness and honesty, of right and wrong. She advocates that children sould be given the support that keeps their flame lit and lifts up their voices.
She gave a speech before dinner every night like a world leader.
And that’s what she became!
The key here is to fake it until you make it.
So, whatever is your kid’s dream, teach them to fake it. And no sooner you will see them develop into the most successful face in that field.

Wrapping up your notepads – Parenting Tips
Parenting is not easy! Especially at times, when kids are already turning out to be so smart. So, rather than trying to be a step ahead, its time to walk along!
Embrace them as your friends. Protect them. Love them. But give them liberty. And be there to hold them when they fall on their face.
Because that’s life. Winning once and losing a thousand times!
