Age-related diseases are hitting people in their twenties and thirties. 

And this is evident in the historic rise in diabetes, cancer or arthritis in young people.

Though we have modern medicines increasing the average life expectancy. But the modern food and reckless lifestyle are snatching away the charismatic youth. Today, most of us would willingly trade a long diseased life for a short healthy life.

No matter how cliché it sounds, I can’t skip it. A balanced diet is the best anti-ageing regime. According to Ayurveda, a balanced diet can be different for different people. It depends on the Tridosas and Gunas.

However, the basics of a healthy diet remain the same. Choose foods that are low in carbs and high in proteins and other nutrients. Fruits, vegetables and green leafy veggies make an ideal choice.

To maintain your age, you don’t need exotic and expensive foods. Eat what your ancestors ate. Foods that are regionally and seasonally available are the best choice. Have spinach as often as possible!

Apart from these, you must add foods that are rich in antioxidants to your diet. They are very beneficial in fighting the free radicals that are responsible for your signs of ageing.  Consumption of such foods in the daily diet makes sure you age well!

I would suggest you go for boiled foods rather than fried ones.

Ayurvedic Anti-ageing Tips: Meditation and Exercise

As I already stated, a calm mind keeps the creases away from your face. 

One of the best ways to calm your mind is by practising meditation every day. Just a few minutes of meditation in the morning can boost your energy levels. This also helps in keeping your stress and anxiety under control. Beginners can try tuning in to meditative music.

Another thing that takes away the numbers from your face is physical exercise. Whether it’s a few minutes of walking or jogging or core exercise, make sure to move your body. However, the best anti-ageing antidote is yoga. It’s calming, energizing and balancing!

Studies show meditation and exercise are great mood boosters. They boost the secretion of happy hormones in the body and helps beat stress effects. As already stated, a happy mood means reduced age!
