Urticaria is derived from the Latin word Urtica, meaning “nettle” and from urere, meaning “to burn” which is commonly referred to as hives, is a kind of skin rash with pale red, raised, itchy bumps. It can also cause a burning or stinging sensation. So, in this blog I would be talking about Ayurvedic treatment for Urticaria.
What is Urticaria?
Urticaria is a skin reaction that causes red or white itchy welts that differ in size and appear and fade suddenly either as a result of allergies or for other reasons. In fact, hives can join together to form larger areas called plaques. It is known that chronic hives in which the welts or the rashes can last for a few hours or last up to 6 weeks, recurring for months and in some cases even for years. What Causes Urticaria?
It is highly difficult for doctors to pinpoint the right reason for this skin disorder. However, the commonly known triggers are foods, medicines, latex, or infections. Insect stings, parasite bites, and internal disease can also be responsible. The foods that cause hives are nuts, chocolate, fish, tomatoes, eggs, fresh berries, soy, wheat, and milk.
Research says that fresh foods cause hives more often than cooked foods. It is also known that certain food additives and preservatives may also cause this disease. Medicines that can cause hives to include aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen), high blood pressure medications (ACE inhibitors), or painkillers such as codeine-based pain killers.

Mr. Rao – 38 yrs – Driver
I have been suffering from this skin problem for a long time. For a long time, I avoided going to doctors and used to take medicines by talking to the local pharmacist. I tried different medications and never took care of myself. One day, a neighbor suggested meeting Dr. Brahamanand Nayak. That’s when I met him and took his advice seriously and his medicines helped greatly. He also educated me about, what I should eat? Now, I am relieved of this skin disorder and know what food to avoid and how to take care of myself properly.
