- Muscle or ligament strain is the common cause of back pain. Lifting heavy weights or a sudden and awkward jolt could lead to strain or a tear of the ligament.
- Poor physical condition, lack of regular exercise and constant strain on the back may cause painful muscle spasms.
- Discs in the spine act as cushions between the individual bones called the vertebrae in your spine. The soft material inside a disc can bulge out or rupture and put pressure on a nerve. This could lead to severe back pain.
- Narrowing of the space around the spinal cord, a condition called spinal stenosis can cause back pain.
- The spine has a natural curve in the body. If the spine curves in an abnormal way, a condition called scoliosis, it can lead to severe pain.

Harshad – 42 years – Insurance Agent
I began suffering from severe lower back and neck pain nearly 2 years ago due to a fall. Since then, I tried various medication to get rid of the pain. I had taken a lot of pain killers and muscle relaxants. None of them gave me a lasting solution.
A friend of mine suggested that I meet Dr Brahmanand Nayak. It made such a big difference. He is so different from the doctors I have consulted earlier on. He patiently listened to the history of my problem and right from the first visit suggested some medication and lifestyle changes which helped greatly. Within 3 months I got complete relief in 2 months. I cannot thank Dr Brahmanand enough.
