Eczema treatment in Ayurveda
According to Ayurvedic traditions, Eczema or Vicharchika is caused because of faulty diet and lifestyle. This leads to accumulation of toxins known as ama. These toxins accumulate in body tissues, contaminating them at a deeper level, causing Eczema.
Application of local creams, antibiotics and steroids do not affect the root cause of this disease. This is why Eczema often reappears. Therefore, individualized treatment, including proper diet and herbal medication is mandatory to cleanse the body of accumulated toxins and get rid of this skin condition for good.
Eczema treatment – Home remedies
- Take 20-30 margosa leaves (neem leaves) and put them in a bowl. Add 5 cups of water and boil for 20 minutes. Allow the water to cool and use it to wash the affected area.
- Take 30 grams of Indian gum tree (babul) bark and 30 grams of mango tree bark and put them in 1 litre of water and boil for 30 minutes. Place this water as hot compress (fomentation) on the affected part for 15-20 minutes. After this, clean the skin with a dry cloth and apply purified butter like an ointment.
A word of advice:
It is strongly recommended that babies put cotton gloves over their tiny hands, to prevent them from scratching. For grownups, a few lifestyle changes, including the right type of clothing is required.
