“I have no words to thank Dr.Brahmanand Nayak. Ever since I started consulting him my life has known no sorrow.
I was an Asthma patient. I had lost my job and was nervous about finding an alternative. I suffered from terrible stress. My Parents depended on my income and I was grazing the streets of Bengaluru desperate to get a paid position. My psychiatrist and my personal doctor could do nothing but just empathize with me. My friends would not even listen to me properly, forget helping me out. They found me overreacting. My situation made me really shambolic.
It was my third or fourth day of unsuccessful job-hunt, sitting in a bus stop I heard random strangers talk highly of an Ayurveda doctor in the neighbourhood. They credit him for overturning their sober lives into blissful ones. As if my bad karma has burnt up, I at once decided to try. My mental condition was worsening and I was ready to try anything that would help. I dropped my plans for the day and visited Dr.Brahmanand Nayak.
I just went in and did not even know why I went. I just sat in the patient’s seat and stared
The doctor asked me what I ate.
Noodles, ‘Easy to make and is also my favourite meal.’ I said finally getting to my senses.
‘No wonder you have no energy left to speak up’ he giggled. ‘Maybe your thoughts are also as mixed up as the noodles you eat; now relax, you probably are at the right place, take your time and speak up’
It was not about his words. It was his energy, aura, I don’t know……. whatever that made me comfortable and I opened up, about the job, the job loss, asthma, the stress, the frustration, the family situation, everything.
Dr.Brahmanand patiently listened to my story and quickly identified that my problem was more in my mind than in my physical body. He suggested I do 60-day pranayama.
Breathing practice? I questioned in disbelief
It will work; thank me later he firmly stated with confidence gushing in his eyes
He also recommended a moderated diet which largely consists of fresh fruits or freshly cooked vegetables, legumes and grains. He also prescribed three Ayurvedic medicines
‘Hope you will not cheat yourself with noodles’ he joked with a smile
This idea of Pranayama was new to me. Of course, I had come across it in college but never really practised it. Probably all of this was just karma unfolding, I took the doctors words to my heart and started the practice.
Initially controlling the breath and staying aware were challenging but the doctor recommended certain materials which help me get accustomed to it.
I was awestruck at his enthusiasm to help me.
My day would start and end with 30 minutes of Pranayama and I would also somehow find time in the middle of the day on most occasions.
I had a yogic diet which meant I almost gave up my favourite noodles and other processed junk foods and largely consumed only rice, vegetables and fruits. I also drank plenty of fluids.
Today on the 61st day, I have a new job with a pay hike and a more senior position. My respiratory illness has improved remarkably. The word ‘Stress’ is out of my dictionary. Once-failing to complete 20 files in 10 hours, in a do or die situation which ended up in me losing my job, today I do 25 files in the 8 hours I spend in the office. I also realize I am more efficient in all my tasks and duties.
I experienced visible changes in my character and thinking from the 21st day, it might happen earlier for you but it took me 21 days. At day 61 I feel totally rejuvenated.
Dr.Brahmanand Nayak is the miracle worker to whom I awe my new life. He clearly explained to me the process of Pranayama. He was kind enough to patiently explain the dietary recommendations to enhance the output of my breathing exercises. To my self-credit, I practised them sincerely. I did that because I didn’t want to sink in that new low which fell upon me. I wanted to bounce back and with the help of the Pranayama recommended by Dr.Brahmanand I feel I have realized and got what I really was looking for but never knew, it was peace and happiness.
Today I am happy and peaceful. Thanks to Dr.Brahmanand Nayak, Pranayama and the God almighty.”
