The shield of immunity
Ayurveda has witnessed many epidemics in its long history of 5000 years. And one thing that has been stone written is the importance of immunity at the face of a pandemic.
If your immunity is strong, the virus cannot kill you, even if you get infected!
The same has been true in the case of COVID-19. There have been more recoveries than casualties and one thing that makes all the difference is the body’s natural defence mechanism – immunity!
And what’s better than a natural immune booster to do the job?
Ayurveda offers several organic herbal concoctions rich in nutrients that help in boosting immunity by supporting and strengthening the functioning of every organ in the body. These are age-old formulations tested by generations and approved by ancestors.
Chyawanprash, Triphala, Ashwagandha,Amla Churna and many such indigenous concoctions are great immune boosters.

Preparing your children for a COVID world
Drifted by the current of chaos and clamour, we often forget to prepare for the future. Be it the advent of technology or an epidemic, we need to adapt and prepare our kids for the new evolving world.
Well with COVID-19, a lot of things are going to be different at least until the world gets a vaccine. So, its time to acknowledge and accept this new world. Because staying in is not always an option even for kids!!!
Kids are at a growing stage that means they need a lot of nutrition and activities to burn the energy. They also need to learn, grow and retain all the information that’s coming their way through online cases.
So, here are a few things you can do to prepare your child for the COVID war –
- Ensure a healthy diet for your child. A diet rich in fruits, veggies, nuts and herbs helps in fulfilling the nutrition requirement of the body.
- Make sure that the child drinks ample water throughout the day. If possible, give them warm water.
- Maintain a fixed time table even if there is no office or school. Eating, reading, sleeping, playing everything should be done on time.
- Make it a habit to give your kid kadha, Chyawanprash and lemon water throughout the day.
- Talk to them about the current COVID situation. Don’t create a panic, but make them understand the gravity.
- Let your child go out for walking or cycling, but under your supervision only.
- Ask the teens to wear a mask and keep the little ones away from the crowd.
- Do not rush to send them back to school. Schools and offices are high-risk areas according to research.
- Maintain a peaceful stress-free environment at home. Continuous rifts among parents is a big stressor for children.
- Talk to your kid. Even if they are little, they too can have a surge of emotions with everything that’s going around. So, please speak to your child and address every issue related to their mental health.
It is important to create a healthy happy environment at home for your kids. Ask them to keep it close to their usual routine, but do not create tension if the child resists.
