It’s also a good source of Vitamin B3, D and E. Plus, the hips of rose contain citric acid, flavonoids, fructose, sucrose and xylose, malic acid, tannins and zinc. All these nutrients make it a super healthy brew.

How to prepare Rose Hip Tea?

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of water
  • Dried rose petals – 2 tbsp
  • Honey (optional)

Process

  • Take a saucepan and pour some water.
  • Heat the water and put the rose petals in it.
  • Cover the lid and bring it to simmer. 
  • Let it simmer for 5 minutes or till the petals become discoloured.
  • Remove the pan from heat and strain the water into a teacup.
  • Add honey to it and serve hot!

2. Gulab Sherbat (Rose drink)

  • Gulab Sharbat is a refreshing drink that you must try.  It relieves stress and anxiety and calms your mind. It’s also an amazing cure to your mood swings. Thanks to its cooling nature. 
  • The fibre in rose aids in smooth bowel movement. Its anti-inflammatory properties relieve bloating and acidity. The antioxidizing properties reduce ageing spots, wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. 
  • It’s a great beverage for your skin, hair and mood. Plus, it’s one of the easiest drinks to make!

How to make Gulab sherbet at home?

Ingredients: 

  • 1 and 1/2 cups of rose petals
  • 6 cups of water
  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1tsp rose essence
  • 1/2 tsp rose colour (optional) 

Process

  • Wash the rose petals and keep aside. 
  • In a pan boil 1 cup water.
  • Add the rose petals, turn off the flame and cover the pan with a lid.
  • Let it sit for about 5 hours. 
  • In another vessel take 5 cups of water and add sugar to it. 
  • Simmer on low heat till the sugar melts. 
  • Now, add the rose essence and let it simmer for a few minutes. 
  • Add lemon juice and fresh rose water. 
  • Mix well and keep in the refrigerator for cooling. 
  • When serving, add 4 tbsp of the syrup in a glass and top it up with ice-cold water. 
  • This syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.

3. Rose lassi

Rose Lassi is a cool refreshing drink that you must try in the summers. It’s full of antioxidants and minerals that help the body to acquire the essential nutrients. The cool combination of curd and rose keeps the body hydrated. 

Curd is good for the gut and it facilitates smooth digestion. It contains good gut-bacteria, lactobacilli. Water hydrates and replenishes the lost minerals. And rose offers a bunch of healthy nutrients.

How to prepare Rose Lassi?

Ingredients

  • Two cups of curd
  • Half to one cup water (depending on the consistency you like)
  • Ice cubes
  • 3 tbsp rose syrup or rose sherbet
  • Few mint leaves (optional)

Process

  • Take a glass bowl and add curd to it. 
  • Stir well to remove the lumps using a spoon. 
  • Add a little water and ice cubes. 
  • Use a hand blender to blend the ingredients in the bowl. 
  • Add a little rose syrup to the mix. 
  • Blend it again to attain a creamy consistency. 
  • Once done, pour it in a glass.
  • Garnish it with fresh mint leaves.
  • Enjoy the delicious and healthy drink.
