Is waking up at 5 am good for health?

Have you heard about the new 5 am club?

Its not a party hub!

The 5 am guild belongs to the early risers.

Just the one like our Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. This man never shies away from sharing his philosophy of starting the day early. And his roaring success is a testament to the benefits of this habit.

Benjamin Franklin once quoted, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”

It indeed is the secret to success. A little research into the lives of the most successful men and women says so!

Learn it from the leaders

It is scientifically proven that early birds are more active. They have better focus. Therefore are likely to be more healthy and successful.

Also, research quotes that early risers are happier and more content. Whereas late sleepers are more prone to depression and anxiety,

It is the early morning moments that set the gap between a leader and a follower!

The importance of the 5 am club could not be better portrayed than by the author Robin Sharma. In his book, The 5 am Club he says, “Take excellent care of the front end of your day, and the rest of your day will pretty much take care of itself. Own your morning. Elevate your life”.

Learn it from your ancestors

People chose to sleep late and live in mediocrity while they could change everything about life just by waking up a few hours early.

So, is it that tough to become a member of the 5 am club?

We come from kin where our ancestors woke up early in the Brahmamuhurta. It is a time when the earth is filled with positive vibrations.

Vedic rishis consider Brahmamuhurta as very auspicious. The absorption of positivity in the mind and body happens at this time. This made their day way more productive.

This explains how our ancestors were so sharp and intelligent. From surgery to mathematics to astronomy, they aced in every field!

Now, science too is concurring with this philosophy of our sages.

Harvard Research says that early-rising people are more active. They can manage time better and have better-concentrating power with precision in performance.

Further studies also claim that early birds are likely to have a better immune system, digestive system, and cognitive functions.

Compelling entry to the 5 am club

Human beings are genetically programmed to maintain the circadian rhythm. And missing the beat creates chaos in life.

Early morning is the best time to study, unwind and focus on important things in life.

People who wake up early are more likely to be rich and successful.

‘5 am club’ members get plenty of time to plan and set goals and stay more alert, focused, and directed which navigates them towards success while the late risers often go with the flow of the day.

The meter of success is directly linked to that alarm by your bed!

Waking up early is not that tough especially once you get the hang of it. Even if you are an insomniac, warm milk or an Ashwagandha tablet at bedtime can help you change your mornings and change your life!

Ayurvedic doctor’s opinion

The 5 AM Club is a concept that promotes a holistic approach to personal development, emphasizing the importance of physical health, mental wellness, and productivity. By waking up at 5 AM, individuals can dedicate the early hours of the day to self-improvement, allowing them to achieve their goals and lead a more fulfilling life.

Numerous studies have shown the benefits of waking up early and implementing healthy habits in the morning. According to a study published in the Journal of Applied Social Psychology, early birds are more proactive and are better at anticipating and avoiding problems, resulting in higher job satisfaction and better work-life balance. Furthermore, a study conducted by the University of Colorado Boulder found that early risers are more likely to have a consistent sleep schedule, which can improve cognitive function and reduce the risk of certain health issues.

In addition to physical health benefits, waking up early can also have a positive impact on mental health. A study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research found that individuals who wake up earlier are less likely to experience symptoms of depression and anxiety, as they tend to have more structured and productive days. Furthermore, implementing mindfulness and meditation practices in the morning can improve emotional regulation and reduce stress levels.

Finally, productivity is a crucial component of the 5 AM Club. By dedicating the early hours of the day to goal-setting and personal development, individuals can increase their productivity and achieve their objectives more efficiently. According to a study published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, employees who start their day with proactive tasks are more likely to experience a sense of accomplishment, which can improve motivation and job satisfaction.

Overall, the 5 AM Club is a valuable concept that can improve various aspects of one’s life. By implementing healthy habits and dedicating the early hours of the day to personal development, individuals can increase productivity, improve mental and physical health, and achieve their goals. While it may take time to adjust to waking up early, the benefits are well worth the effort.

Dr.. Im already part of 5AM club, but the challenge is the continuity and how far you go waking up early without alarm in place.. It really needs will power as to wake up everyday at brahmamuhurta. I believe one will get the benefits only when he does it for long time not even missing single day..
The day i wake up late, i feel like i have lost and there is a change in the routine.. Again i need to motivate myself either by reading self help or by watching motivational videos to bring back myself into the 5AM club and keep it going..
