Ginger Juice For Weight Loss

This Juice is a powerful aid in weight loss. It helps one to feel fuller for longer. Increases metabolism. Facilitates better digestion. All of these contribute to weight loss. It is very helpful in maintaining the waist-to-hip ratio.

Recipe!

  1. Take water in a pan
  2. Add slices of ginger either grated or smashed.
  3. Cover the pan with a lid and let the water boil.
  4. Let the water cool.
  5. Put it in a jar and keep sipping through out the day

Over the years many other benefits of this magical spice came to light. This utterly aromatic and pleasantly pungent spice is a great medicine. It is also been used for spicing beer and preparing tea. Both of these are saviours in the cold weather. 

Benefits of Ginger Juice

1. Digestion

This mighty Juice is an extremely valuable natural healer. Its has bioactive compounds like Gingerol. Gingerol adds the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects of ginger.

Another compound called phenolics is also present in ginger juice. It helps in relieving gastrointestinal (GI) irritation. Stimulates saliva. Aids digestion. It is a natural cure for flatulence, indigestion and loss of appetite.

2. Nausea

Ginger water is a common quick aid for morning sickness in pregnant ladies. Calms motion sickness. Relieves nausea during cancer treatment. It is a natural, efficient and safe way to fight nausea and vomiting in Ayurvedic texts.

3. Vertigo

Ginger juice is one of the most effective home remedies for vertigo. Mainly because of its anti-inflammatory properties. You can add one teaspoon of fresh Ginger juice in water or vegetable juice and drink. Some doctors suggest adding turmeric, pepper and cayenne pepper.

4. Pain

Ginger has potent anti-inflammatory properties. This makes it a very effective pain reliever. It is best used to relieve Migraines. Dysmenorrhea. Joint pain. Post-work-out body pain.

5. Cold and Flu

Ginger has great antiviral properties which makes it a potent natural remedy for cold and flu. It is also very helpful in asthma and fever.

How to make and use Ginger Juice

Ayurveda suggests, for better digestion or boosting appetite, you can take equal parts of ginger and salt just before meals. You may also try equal parts of ginger, lemon juice and salt mixed together. It cleans the tongue and throat and increases appetite.

According to Ayurveda, Ginger juice with honey is a great cure for cough and cold. It relaxes the sore throat, soothes hoarseness and cures loss of voice.

For loose motions, Ayurveda suggests rubbing ginger juice on and around the naval.

The unique Ayurvedic concept of ‘Aardrakanistivanam’

This spicy juice can be added with a little quantity of powders of dried ginger, black pepper, long pepper (also known as trikatu) and a pinch of salt. A mouthful of this mixture is to be taken in the mouth.

The mixture should be spat out after keeping it undisturbed for a few minutes.

Ayurveda recommends repeating this process 3-4 times in an hour to liquefy dried mucus in chest and throat. This will result in lightness, relieve the stiffness of joints, soothe fever, giddiness and cough.
