How to make and use Ginger Juice
Ayurveda suggests, for better digestion or boosting appetite, you can take equal parts of ginger and salt just before meals. You may also try equal parts of ginger, lemon juice and salt mixed together. It cleans the tongue and throat and increases appetite.
According to Ayurveda, Ginger juice with honey is a great cure for cough and cold. It relaxes the sore throat, soothes hoarseness and cures loss of voice.
For loose motions, Ayurveda suggests rubbing ginger juice on and around the naval.
The unique Ayurvedic concept of ‘Aardrakanistivanam’
This spicy juice can be added with a little quantity of powders of dried ginger, black pepper, long pepper (also known as trikatu) and a pinch of salt. A mouthful of this mixture is to be taken in the mouth.
The mixture should be spat out after keeping it undisturbed for a few minutes.
Ayurveda recommends repeating this process 3-4 times in an hour to liquefy dried mucus in chest and throat. This will result in lightness, relieve the stiffness of joints, soothe fever, giddiness and cough.
