Bedtime Habits of Successful and Healthy People: The Secrets to a Good Night’s Sleep

Sleep is a deep state of meditation in which you refill the empty jar of energy and rejuvenate our senses to live life for another day. It’s that sacred time when your mind and body unwinds, calm take over chaos and your senses regain all strength. The time you spend snuggled on the bed is the time you prepare for the tussles of another day. 

But are you really using sleep to your advantage? Most of the millennials live a sleep-deprived life. Let me just add 2 quick points here – 

1. The extra hours you spend on the bed during the weekend does no repair to the losses incurred. 

2 Lying on the bed for 8 hours does not mean you are sleeping right!

So, if you want to live your life as the rich and healthy people do, follow their footsteps especially when you approach the bed.

What successful and healthy people do before going to bed?

  1. Make a bedtime schedule and stick to it. Routines may sound boring but when you look up at the ladder to success you got to do the boring stuff to get the good stuff coming your way. Plus, sticking to a regular routine helps to regulate your body’s circadian rhythm which is a crucial parameter of your survival.
  2. Take a banana – Banana is rich in magnesium which helps you to doze off like a panda!
  3. Practice self-massage especially foot massage and dip your legs in warm water to wash off the stress and strains of your day!
  4. Take care of everything that might disturb your quality sleep. Whether it’s the mosquitoes singing to your ear or a partner snoring their heart out, get things fixed before getting into bed! (Also Read: Positive thinking leads to good quality sleep)
  5. Treat your bed as your holy serene. Dip in a bath with lukewarm water to relax your body, clean up the mess, put the lights off and follow a relaxing routine that helps you unwind. Maybe read a book or put on some relaxing sleep meditation that can lure you to sleep.
  6. Embrace the goodness of meditation. There is nothing as peaceful and as calming as few seconds spent in meditation. Let the negative thoughts, fears, anger, or jealousy evaporate and good thoughts fill your mind. Let health come to you and let money fill your life with abundance. (Also Read: Walking meditation)
  7. Keep your electronic far far away. Switch them away or keep them in another room, but don’t touch them once you get on the bed. The bright light on the electronics stimulates your brain and that is the last thing you want when you are trying to snooze off.   8. Avoid an afternoon nap especially if it goes beyond 20 minutes. Power nap, coffee naps or cat naps are helpful to pull through a hectic day but again the key here is not more than 20 minutes.
  9. Exercise – This is something each one of the successful people sitting at the top drawer would tell you. Exercise daily! That’s it. No excuse no reasons. Run, walk or crawl, do yoga or exercise, but move your body every single day. (Also Read: Exercise for good health)

That’s all you need to do to get the best time on the bed. Some people also say that having sex before sleeping improves the quality of their sleep. But this is again a personal choice for you to make!

Sleep is the greatest gift to the living beings😊
Modern life, our culture and our attitude make impact on our beautiful sleep. Though we earn enormously…become rich with all high end modern amenities..!!! But if we cannot sleep soundly…they all lead to futile..! They simply make our life worst and nightmare.
