Vacha: The Natural Mind Stimulator for Optimal Brain Function

Vacha is a natural rejuvenator. It stimulates the brain cells, sharpens memory, and improves learning abilities in children. Our ancestors have used this brain stimulator for centuries.

Many people think that people get their intelligence, memory, and IQ from the mother’s womb. Well, that’s not 100% true. Brain development starts in the mother’s womb, but it does not stop there. Your IQ, memory, and intelligence continue to develop after your birth.

And one factor that fuels this brain development is nutrition. Every cell of your body is made of the food you eat, including the cells of your brain. Thus, along with practicing brain-stimulating activities, eating the right food is crucial.

Ayurveda identified many natural herbs that work wonders on the brain cells. Vacha is a renowned herb. It has the potential of improving memory, cognition, intelligence, voice, and mental abilities.

The secret of Ayurvedic intelligence

Calamus root or a ‘Sweet flag‘ is a popular Ayurvedic herb. The word translates to ‘speaking clearly’. Ayurveda hails it as a nervine tonic. It is an anti-stammering herbal medicine. Take it with honey to help manage speech disorders.

Its roots and rhizome contain essential elements used in Ayurvedic medicine. Vacha’s main effects are on the brain, vocal chord, stomach, liver, lungs, and uterus. Thus, it helps in treating diseases related to these organs.

Vacha from the Vedas

It is an important medicine mentioned in the Vedas for brain development. Our ancient Vaidyas also mentioned its actions on the nervous system and other parts of the body. It is bitter and pungent in taste. Hot, sharp, dry, and light in effect. It alleviates Kapha and Vata. Aggravates pitta.

Many ancient scripts have mentioned it as an anti-epileptic and anti-hysteric herb. It is also carminative, digestive, diuretic, and mildly sedative. Research studies have also established Vacha as a potent psycho-pharmacological agent.

Vacha – A wonder herb for children

Ayurveda mentions the use of Vacha in children for its bountiful benefits.

1. It’s a Colic powder

Vacha is an effective abdominal colic powder. Mix it with a pinch of hingu and rock salt and give in a glass of warm water. This composition is helpful in relieving bloating and pain.

It is also effective in curing intestinal worms. This Ayurvedic formulation facilitates the proper elimination of urine and stools in children. Thus, Ayurvedic doctors often recommend it to young ones.

2. It’s a brain booster

Take it with a touch of honey to correct the delay in speech in children.

3. It’s a cure for cold

Vacha with turmeric is a good exfoliator. It removes the dust and dirt from the baby’s skin while retaining the oil and pH balance. This prevents dryness of the skin and helps in the growth of healthy tissues.

For Children below 1 year, small pieces of Vacha can be tied like a bracelet. This serves as a teething bracelet and provides anti-microbial benefits. Biting this teething bracelet prevents abdominal pain and worms in babies.
